Sometimes you’re looking for something more relaxing and soothing than a chair.
A gamer pouffe is perfect for this purpose, allowing several seating positions and even the possibility of lying on it, the comfort is unequalled.
However, the gamer pouffe range is too extensive…
There are tons of them, at prices ranging from double to quadruple, and it’s really hard to find your way around.
It’s the same problem I described when looking for a cheap gaming chair!
After reading this comparison, there’s no need to look anywhere else.
You’ll find everything from the lowest price to the highest, from the best quality to the most reasonable. And you’ll know why it’s better to buy one or the other.
However, there are ways to choose a gamer pouffe, and that’s good news!
This comparison is here to help you choose the best one at the best price.
Here’s a quick selection of the 5 best gamer poufs, which will be tested in greater depth throughout this page:
Sommaire
The I-ex Elite is a large, well-made gamer pouffe in faux leather.
Why well-made?
Because, unlike most imitation leather poufs, this one stands up to the test of time and won’t flake.
What’s more, it’s thick and pleasant to the touch.
The advantage of imitation is that it’s hard to stain (easy to clean) and very resistant compared to fabric.
It’s also easy to transport.
Thanks to its weight of just 4kg, it’s easy to maneuver and move around the house.
It comes complete with balls for filling, so there’s no need to buy anything else – it’s ready to use as soon as you receive it.
It also features an unrivalled back support with a high level of comfort.
I find this especially useful for games, because when you start to concentrate, you tend to want to be a bit more “seated” and have your back supported.
And when you’re playing a more relaxed game, you can slump back into the pouf.
The other great advantage of this gamer pouffe is its size: it will fit perfectly even a 1M80 person, who will have no trouble getting comfortable in it.
For the little ones, it’ll be even more pleasant thanks to all the space available!
Particular attention has been paid to the seams and finish, which are of excellent quality.
It won’t wear out, unlike low-end poufs that wear out very quickly and whose seams become loose, causing the pouf to start losing its balls and fall apart.
There’s no such problem here, and that’s a very good thing for durability.
It’s worth noting that on the back of this pouf there are panels that provide good support for the neck and back with a special foam.
Think of it as cushioning for a great seat!
In short: a very good gamer beanbag, if you can afford it.
Good points:
Negative points:
In my humble opinion, this gamer pouffe is the best in terms of comfort, thanks in part to a feature that sets it apart from all the others:
Its corduroy upholstery, which creates a furry effect that’s super pleasant.
Each of the stripes is made of soft plush, adding a truly cocooning feel to this pear-shaped pouffe.
What’s more, the fabric used is very hard-wearing, as it’s made of tightly-woven mesh, which means that compared with most poufs, it will last longer!
It’s also been treated to prevent stains, all seams are lined and there’s even a safety catch on the zipper.
So that’s the big advantage: you’ve got a durable footstool that you won’t be afraid to eat off while you’re playing!
For those who don’t have a lot of space, it folds up easily so you can store it in a place where it won’t bother you.
The backrest is really nice and supportive when you want to get into “gamer” mode (by which I mean sit down and crouch down to play).
For other positions, it’s also great: once you’re sitting on it, you’ll feel like you’re on cloud nine.
It has special “SupremeX” type balls that last longer and make the footstool more comfortable.
So whether you’re playing, reading or watching a movie, this gaming footstool is a good choice.
What’s more, its size makes it ideal for both adults and children.
Nevertheless, you’ll have to put the balls in yourself, and as they’re to be placed directly inside the footstool… And it’s not a cover…
You won’t be able to machine-wash this gamer pouffe (unless you remove them all, which I don’t recommend).
Good points:
Negative points:
This pouffe is just as well-made as the I-EX Elite, but in a smaller version.
So unlike the Elite version, which is aimed at children and adults, this less expensive version is only for children.
And teenagers, as long as they’re not adult-sized, because it is indeed small.
Nevertheless, it has all the advantages of the I-EX Elite, with a high backrest and integrated foam panels.
This really adds a great deal of craftsmanship compared with other poufs.
On this footstool, you can sit just as well as on a chair to play games, and at the same time sit a little further back to read a book or watch a film.
The imitation leather, like the I-EX Elite, is of good quality and embossed, holding up very well over time and easily washable.
A very good point for durability.
It’s lightweight, just 4kg, so it’s easy to carry anywhere in your home or to move from a bedroom to your living room.
The pouf is ready to use, as it comes complete with balls (free of charge).
Like the I-EX Elite, the seams and finishes are well done.
We even have the pleasure of having a logo sewn onto the pouf (something most brands don’t even bother to do).
Good points:
Negative points:
A very good polyester (synthetic cotton) gamer pouffe for those who want a compromise between quality and a reasonable price!
What’s more, it can be used indoors as well as outdoors (and comes with balls to fill it, so you can use it as soon as you receive it).
To start with the design, it’s quite rare to find a gamer pouffe with so many different colors.
It’s even available in pink! A beautiful pink at that.
You can easily match it to any room or decoration in your living room/bedroom.
What’s more, it’s a perfect cross between an armchair and a “normal pouffe”!
Turning to what interests us most, it’s very comfortable, with a roomy seat suitable for an adult or child thanks to its large dimensions.
It has a raised backrest and thousands of flowing beads that are perfect for hugging the shape of your body as you sit.
As a result, you’ll feel as good as you do on a “memory foam” mattress.
It’s very high quality, and I take it for granted that it’s made with highly resistant, waterproof fabrics.
So it can be used indoors or out, even if common sense dictates that you’d rather take it home if it’s raining!
It’s very easy to clean, should a stain appear, even though it’s still a textile.
It also has topstitching and a double zipper to prevent the balls from escaping from the pouf.
This is very important to avoid ending up with a footstool that loses its balls, soiling the house and becoming unusable.
The back of the footstool can be reclined, and once you’re seated on it, armrests will form so you’re perfectly comfortable.
Whether you’re reading, playing or daydreaming, this pouffe will be perfect!
Finally, it weighs just under 5kg, so it’s easy to carry around the house.
What else can I say?
I think the only drawback is that it’s not as big as the I-ex Elite.
It’s more suitable for people up to 1m80-85 tall, while the other is more suitable for people over that height.
Good points:
Negative points:
This is the least expensive gamer pouffe, so it’s really only suitable if you want a pouffe that you’re going to use from time to time and not necessarily 4-5h/day.
It’s not great for gaming, because the lack of a raised back means you can’t really sit in anything other than a semi-recumbent position.
I’m quibbling a bit, though, because it does have a small margin for resting the back, but if you compare it to other poufs, you’ll immediately see the difference.
Nonetheless, it’s a respectable size, so will easily suit children and adults alike.
It’s very easy to move around, because it’s so light (in fact, it’s an inflatable footstool weighing just 2kg, so it’s easy to move around your living room)…
And apart from the fact that you’ll have to be more careful with this pouf than with other textile/simili poufs, you’ll feel like you’re on cloud nine once you sit on it.
I think it gets a lot of its comfort from the fact that it’s an inflatable pouf flocked with very, very soft velvet. For movies, reading, relaxing games, it’s a super interesting pouf.
It’s a good choice if you want a footstool for occasional use, and you don’t have cats/dogs (who might put holes in the footstool).
You’ll also need to take the time to inflate it each time you want to use it, and the use of a pump is recommended.
Or a hair dryer on cold air if you don’t feel like spending money on a pump.
It’s also particularly interesting if your home is small and you don’t have the space to keep a footstool (which takes up a lot of room) in your lap all the time, since you can then deflate it for storage.
Please note that the maximum recommended weight is 100kg.
And beware: an inflatable pouf is not necessarily durable, so you need to be extra careful every time you use it.
For a cheap gamer pouf, this is the best price, but I’d recommend the Bean bag baazar.
Good points:
Negative points:
Choosing the right gamer pouffe is no easy task, as there are hundreds of different types to choose from.
It’s easy to get lost on the Internet and not know which one to choose: they all look very similar, but their prices vary enormously.
So how do you separate the wheat from the chaff?
Stick with me, because I’m going to let you in on all their little secrets.
If you can put very little into a pouf, don’t necessarily expect it to last very long or be super-comfortable.
Generally speaking, low-quality, low-end gamer beanbags often end up with holes or leaking beads, or even poor-quality beanbags that end up settling.
The same goes for upholstery: a good imitation will not be found on a very low-priced pouffe, and the same goes for a gamer seat.
The same goes for fabric: a well-made, soft fabric is unlikely to be found without paying the price (and again, the same goes for quality of finish, stitching, etc.).
However, if you know where to look, you can find a good deal without spending too much money!
Footstools come in different sizes, and some are only suitable for children/teens.
So this could be a problem, especially if you’re very tall (in which case you’d need a product that’s both wide and height-appropriate).
So be sure to check the size of the pouffe before you buy, to avoid ending up with a small pouffe if you’re 1m90 tall.
For example, if you’re looking for a gamer pouffe for adults, the I-Ex is the best currently available.
There are two main types of material for gaming beanbag chairs: fabric and imitation leather.
The advantage of imitation leather is that it’s very difficult to stain and easy to clean: just wipe with a cloth and you’re ready to go.
However, you need to choose a well-made imitation, otherwise it will flake over time and look even uglier than a dirty pouffe.
The advantage of fabric is that you can wash it directly in the machine (generally), but if you stain it, the stain is likely to leave a mark.
Comfort is a matter of preference.
Imitation breathes a little less, so in summer it can make you sweat, but the fabrics are much less premium than imitation.
So it’s partly a question of preference, it’s up to you!
The weight of the footstool depends on what you intend to do with it.
If you’re going to move it from room to room, or from one room to another, you’ll want to keep the weight down.
Otherwise, you’ll soon tire of carrying it around, especially if you’re giving it to a child.
It has to be light enough for them to move it easily on their own!
Most fabric poufs come with a cover around the pouf, and another inside to hold the beads, so you can wash the cover whenever you need to.
However, some gamer poufs don’t have this cover, like the Lounge Plug, which isn’t washable…
So it all depends on how you’re going to use the pouf. If it’s going to be used outdoors, or by a child, I think a washable pouf is the way to go.
The greatest advantage of gaming footstools is that they have a backrest, and some are even padded.
As a result, they stay upright even when you’re leaning on them, giving you the unrivalled comfort of a footstool, but with a seat similar to a gamer’s chair – and that’s great!
Unfortunately, however…
Some poufs don’t have one, or are not padded (the lesser of the two), so they’re a little less comfortable to sit on and concentrate during an intense game.
Because as soon as a game starts to get complicated, I personally tend to sit up to concentrate better, and it’s impossible to do without one.
That’s the most obvious thing about this guide: always check whether the beads are supplied.
Usually they are, but sometimes they’re not.
Ideally, you should also look at their quality, but you won’t know that until you’ve bought it.
Unless you’re planning to change them later (which is quite possible).
Here’s a quick FAQ to answer the most frequently asked questions about gamer poufs.
The big advantage I find with gamer poufs is that they’re really extremely comfortable.
This makes them particularly pleasant to use in a gaming situation, since we all play to relax.
Nevertheless, it’s really something I’d only recommend to gamers who play with a joystick.
Because it’s TOP with a controller, but if you’re a keyboard and mouse player, beanbags are clearly not for you.
Unless you’re on a laptop and just want to relax with a console controller plugged into your computer.
Absolutely.
Depending on the feel you want to achieve, you may well put a bag of “plush” stuffing inside.
See what’s inside your plush, the little white fabric inside?
It’s great and gives a “cloud” effect to the pouf, but you need a lot of it.
The best form of pouffe is undoubtedly the “pear pouffe”!
They’re easy to transport, thanks to the fact that the pear shape makes part of the pouf “stick out” (basically, it’s not flat).
They’re also more ergonomic, because they provide a backrest for better sitting posture.
The risk with other poufs is really sitting badly, slouching and ending up with pain in the lower back.
So yes, pear-shaped poufs are the best.

The best beanbag for gamers is clearly the I-EX ELITE, which surpasses all other beanbags, because…
It’s great for sitting upright, thanks to its foam-padded back and seat panels, and its superb imitation leather that stands up to the test of time and isn’t afraid of stains or poor treatment.
It’s very comfortable thanks to the foam it has, which is superbly arranged and doesn’t sag, and finally it’s so big that it will suit a child as well as an adult.
If you’re interested in the I-EX Elite and want to make sure you don’t get a bad deal and have it delivered pretty quickly…
