The best songmics gamer chairs are:

The Songmics RCG12W: the best of the brand

gaming chair black white songmics rcg12w

For me, the Songmics RCG12W is the best gaming chair from the Songmics brand.

It has many advantages, in addition to an affordable price.

First of all, in terms of comfort, you can be sure of quality: the foam is well padded and is a high-resilience cold foam.

In concrete terms, this means it’s a breathable foam (which will prevent you from sweating in summer, as is often the case with imitation).

BUT it also means that it won’t sag with use, so there’s no risk of ending up with a chair like Homer Simpson’s sofa.

Its backrest can be rotated up to 150Β°, which corresponds to an almost reclining position, so you’ll easily be able to find the position that suits you best!

You’ll even be able to take little naps, or relax while watching a movie (it’s much nicer to watch a movie lying down than sitting up, isn’t it?).

You’ll also have two cushions, one for your neck and the other for your lumbar region.

These are designed to respect the natural curvature of your neck and lumbar region (and should therefore be placed there).

This is a major comfort booster, as it reduces the tension and pressure exerted on your body, so you can play longer without suffering.

In terms of materials, you’re looking at wear-resistant PU leather (it won’t end up all cracked after a few months).

Smooth, silent 60mm castors, perfect for open-space work.

And very rarely in this price range, in addition to the top, skeleton and armrest frame, the BASE is also made of steel!

The whole thing, which promises to be very solid, will be able to withstand up to 150kg… What’s more, it is SGS-certified for stability and TÜV Rheiland-certified for strength.

It also features a tilting mechanism.

This is very important to relieve the pressure of your body on your lumbar vertebrae, so you can sit for longer without the notorious lower back pain.

It also has a swivel mechanism, so like all the chairs in this ranking, it can swivel 360Β°, so I won’t repeat it.

Finally, the 2D armrests (adjustable in height and orientation) will enable you to adjust them to the height of your desk and relieve tension in your shoulders.

Good points:

Negative points:

The Songmics RCG52BW: The top with footrest

black and white songmics rcg52bw 1

The RCG52BW is also a very good songmics gaming chair, but it’s ESPECIALLY suitable for those who want a footrest.

It’s got some great features, like a backrest that reclines up to 135Β°, which means you’re not really lying down, but almost.

Just what you need to watch a series/movie/stream and use the footrest for a little nap.

Frankly, at first I thought the footrest would be a useless accessory, but after putting my feet up on my desk for months (while using my laptop)…

The footrest has really improved my conditions, because the desk quickly ends up hurting my tendon, and the footrest is super comfortable. It’s great for watching movies.

To top it all off, you’ve also got a very comfortable high-resilience foam (which means it won’t sag over time).

Next, you’ll notice that the backrest of this black and white songmics gaming chair is made of canvas!

This is deliberate, as fabric is more breathable than leatherette, so your back won’t be stuck to your chair in summer!

You also get the two cushions offered, the headrest and the lumbar.

The aim is to preserve the curves of your body to relieve tension and avoid back pain.

The materials are also solid, and once again you’ll find a steel base (which is usually very rare) for durability.

In fact, the chair can bear a load of 150kg.

The leatherette is durable and well-crafted, and the gas lift is class 4 and certified by TÜV Rheinland.

In short, you can be sure of its solidity.

The 60mm castors roll smoothly and won’t catch on floors.

It has a tilting mechanism, very important to protect your back and body from pressure during your play sessions.

Last but not least, the 2D armrests can be adjusted in height (ideally that of your desk) to take the strain off your shoulders, and in angle (that of your arms) to position them alongside your arms.

Good points:

Negative points:

The Songmics RCG42BK: The best for grown-ups

gaming chair songmics rcg42bk

The RCG42BK is the perfect songmics chair if you’re tall.

Why?

Because it has a higher back and wider seat than other songmics gamer chairs.

But that’s not all: it’s also made from high-resilience foam, ensuring durability and quality.

It will always regain its shape, so it’s a real investment, and all the more important as this chair is aimed at grown-ups.

The backrest can also be reclined up to 135Β°, enough to find the position you like best and get a little rest while downloading or watching a series.

There’s also a neck cushion and a lumbar cushion.

Make sure you place them in the hollows of your neck and lumbar region, to reshape your body’s S-curve.

Doing this will reduce tension enormously, and you’ll see that you won’t have to keep squirming in your chair to find a comfortable position!

As far as materials are concerned, it’s a no-brainer, with a leather upholstery that’s easy to clean and hard-wearing (it won’t get ugly and worn after a few months), and above all…

In addition to a steel frame, the base is also made of steel!

All this, coupled with a TÜV Rheinland-certified class 4 gas-operated jack, allows a maximum weight of 150kg.

It was all the more important to have all these features, as this songmics gamer chair is aimed at the big boys.

The castors are sturdy and offer a consistent, smooth experience.

To conclude my review of this songmics gaming chair, you should know that it also features 2D armrests (as I’ve already explained, this is very good from an ergonomic point of view).

Good points:

Negative points:

The Songmics OBG56B: The best value for money

gaming chair songmics obg56b

The OBG56B is ideal for gamers who want a songmics chair without breaking the bank.

On the plus side, the OBG56B features high-resilience foam.

So there’s no risk of the foam flattening over time.

A guarantee of quality.

The black pu leather cover is pleasant to the touch and easy to clean.

It lasts well over time and won’t flake off completely, which is good value for money.

The dimensions of this model make it particularly suitable for people under 1.75 m tall.

The backrest is specially shortened for this purpose, and the chair descends lower (so you can touch the ground more easily!).

The castors are polyurethane-coated, so they make less noise, won’t damage the floor, and roll smoothly on all surfaces.

The safety of the model has been tested by TÜV Rheinland, and there’s an anti-loosening screw mechanism!

Secondly, my opinion of this songmics chair is good, because, despite the price, it’s still made of metal and still has a tilting mechanism.

This is super-important for long periods of sitting, as it relieves tension points on your body and prevents you from experiencing severe lower back pain.

It doesn’t come with two free cushions like the others, but it doesn’t particularly need cushions, as it’s already S-shaped with a headrest integrated into the chair.

What’s more, this songmics gamer chair is half imitation leather and half fabric.

The fabric on the seat and back gives you a breathable material that prevents you from sweating on the chair, which is great.

All in all, why pay more?

There are a few important little extras for long-term ergonomic posture, like the adjustable armrests (which here are fixed), so you won’t be able to adapt them to your posture or desk.

Nevertheless, they’ll still do their job of supporting the forearms and relaxing the back and shoulders, the only drawback being that they won’t be adjustable to suit you.

Despite the tilting mechanism, the backrest is fixed and can’t be reclined for napping, watching a movie, and so on.

You need to take all this into account in your final choice, and also tell yourself that at this price, you’ll never get anything better.

Positive points:

Negative points:

The Songmics OBG064B01: You can do better than this

songmics obg064b01.jpg

On its own, the OBG064B1 isn’t bad, but I think you can get better from the brand quite easily.

Either by adding a little and buying an RCG12W.

Or by saving money and buying an OBG56B, which is the same (except for the armrests, which can be raised).

Unless you’re particularly interested in the fact that the armrests can be folded down (because it takes up less space once you’ve put it away)…

In that case, you’re good to go.

Likewise, if the OBG56B’s premium design appeals to you more than the OBG56B’s, you’re good to go!

Otherwise, it’s very similar to the OBG56B…

The backrest is fixed, but features a tilting mechanism, and the materials used to build it are well-made.

You also won’t get any cushions with the chair, but it is already physically designed to make an S and has an integrated headrest.

It’s also made of high-density foam, like the OBG56B, but the PU leather upholstery is, as I said at the start, more premium and pretty.

It’s up to you to decide whether you think it’s worth the extra money compared with the OBG56B to get a more premium look and fold-down armrests.

In my opinion, if you can afford the extra money, you should go straight for the RCG12W.

Good points:

Negative points:

And a little bonus for the end, the OBG77 video

If you’re interested, I’ve also tested the Songmics OBG77BR.

It’s still a good choice if one of the above chairs is out of stock (which often happens)!

FAQ about songmics gamer chairs

You’ve repeatedly asked me a few questions about the brand, so I’ll get right back to you!

If you have any others, please don’t hesitate to contact me, I’ll answer them and add them to this FAQ.

The Songmics brand was created in 2012 with the aim of improving the quality of life for users of the brand’s objects.

To achieve this, Songmics sets out to produce objects (initially based on everything that falls into the “home” category, then moving on to gamer seats).

Our products are ever more qualitative, solid and pleasant to use.

After-sales service is attentive and responsive.

What’s more, they love to receive customer feedback, which helps them to improve and enhance their products.

So don’t hesitate to let them know what you think after your purchase!

What I like about them is that they’re more concerned with getting their prices down than with monstrous marketing.

The warranty applicable to songimcs gaming chairs is the legal one.

It lasts for two years from receipt of your chair.

So my opinion of songmics gamer chairs is good, but it needs to be put into perspective depending on your needs and also the market they’re targeting.

Their aim is to offer chairs with good value for money.

You won’t reach the level of the Secretlab titan evo or the best gaming chairs in terms of adjustments, backrest orientation, technological advances, etc. In other words, you won’t get the same level of comfort as the Secretlab titan evo.

In short, you won’t get the best of the best, but you will get a chair that doesn’t cost an arm and that costs about 1/6 of the price of the chairs I’ve just mentioned…

In conclusion, Songmics is perfect for its price range, and is very well placed in the mid-range market!
