High-density foam is clearly the best.
It’s what ensures that the chair’s foam won’t sag over time, and…
So you won’t find yourself sitting on flattened foam that won’t regain its shape.
Still, I think it’s a pity they didn’t specify the exact density of the foam – I’d have liked to know.
Because you can start talking about high density from around 28kg/m3.
Well, the side cheeks aren’t as prominent as some top-of-the-range models…
Which give the impression of being in a cockpit like the Quersus Vaos 501, but that’s good enough.
In reality, it all depends on what you prefer.
Personally, I like to be held in because I tend to move around too much.
Others don’t like to be supported and prefer gaming chairs with no side cheeks or very weak ones.
The Oversteel Diamond is the perfect in-between: you keep your freedom, but you’re also supported.

But what’s the purpose of the tilting system?
In practical terms, it enables the backrest and seat to follow your movements and “tilt” with you.
If you’re sitting straight as a post at 90° all day long, and the chair doesn’t follow your movements…
Just like a “normal” chair…
You’re going to end up with lower back pain.
See what I mean?
That’s why the tilting mechanism is so important.
The gas piston is class 4, which is not only better than the Oversteel Ultimet, but also…
This means greater sturdiness and, above all, greater spring force!
The chair will have less trouble going up and down, and will last longer over time.
A metal frame is the right choice, because it makes the chair more robust.
It’s harder to break metal.
Nylon, on the other hand, is the lowest-quality base for a chair.
Better still, metal is stronger…
Or, at best, aluminum, which is stronger and lighter, but that usually adds up pretty quickly.
Then again, you’ll be hard-pressed to find a metal base at this price.
It can be done, but you’ll lose all the other advantages of the settings I’ll be detailing shortly.
So as long as you respect the maximum weight allowed and don’t jump on the chair if you’re close to the maximum weight, it’ll do.
Now that’s good news for the price.

This is the type of seat you find in sports cars.
The style is resolutely perfect for gaming, and thanks to its wide range of colors it will easily fit in with your set-up (or living room).
It’s available in purple, red, green, gray, blue and black.
So you can either choose a gaming chair with a flashy red design or something more sober with the black edition.
The logo is embroidered on the top of the backrest (front and back) and on the cushions.
I also really like the rugged look of the Oversteel Diamond.
Take a look at the photo and tell me it doesn’t look “beefy”?
PU leather is the covering of virtually all gamer chairs.
The good thing is that it looks premium and adds a touch of style to the chair.
Plus, it’s easy to clean if you tend to eat or drink on your chair.
A wipe and it’s gone.
However, the downside is that unlike fabric (which stains easily, so it’s bad if you eat/drink on it)…
PU leather isn’t breathable, so it can make you sweat in summer if you tend to perspire.
Otherwise, in terms of quality, it holds up well over time and doesn’t flake.
The lumbar cushion is placed in the small of your back to reproduce the natural S-shaped curve of your back.
It adds a big touch of comfort to your seating, but you really need to place it in the small of your back.
Ideally, the headrest should also be placed in the hollow of your neck, to reproduce the normal curve of your neck.
So you don’t have a neck that hurts, pulls and so on.
The foam is well padded, but it’s not memory foam.
It costs around €50-70 just for that, so you’ll easily understand why at that price it can’t be memory foam.
The finish is decent.
Although they’re simple plastic covers like most gaming chairs, I regret their lack of branded “personalization”.
Otherwise, the seams are clean and regular, and look solid.
The castors are standard castors, as you’ll find almost anywhere.
They roll well (especially on tiles and parquet).
And most importantly, they don’t leave marks.
63mm is what’s available in this price range, but it also means you’ll have to put in a bigger “a-coup” to get over an obstacle like a carpet, for example.
That’s a very good point, which is sometimes not even present on very high-end chairs.
The Oversteel Diamond can be tilted back up to 180°, which corresponds to a fully reclined position.
Perfect for napping, resting or watching a movie without having to move from your chair.
Personally, I admit I don’t like to go back to bed once it’s made, so…
It’s something I like, then to watch a YT video it’s always nicer to have your hands behind your head and be lying down.
A lever on the right-hand side of the backrest adjusts the backrest angle.
Each armrest can be adjusted by means of a knob on each outer part.
You can adjust the height using the lever on the right-hand side of the seat.
If you pull or push it towards you, you can also lock/unlock the tilting mechanism.
Finally, the knob on the underside of the seat allows you to adjust the tension of the tilting mechanism according to your weight (very important to get it right).
To assemble the Oversteel Diamond, you’ll need between 30 and 40 minutes if you do it yourself.
