Honesty & Impartiality

The Corsair T1 Race is a chair specially designed for gamers.

It features a racing car-style design, beautifully crafted from top-quality materials and…

Comfort that’s sure to please gamers who prefer a seat that’s neither too firm nor too soft!

The Corsair T1 Race stands out for its wide range of available features (4D armrests, solid and comfortable), while remaining affordable.

It has always been able to perfect and improve itself over time, giving priority to listening to gamers’ feedback to Corsair.

All in all, and I think you already knew this (raise your hand if you’ve never heard of Corsair!), this review of the Corsair T1 Race gaming chair promises to be epic.

I’ll describe all its features, rate them, and you’ll be able to decide whether or not it’s right for you.

For which gamer?

If, like me, you spend most of your time sitting at a computer, this chair has been designed to allow you to sit comfortably for several hours at a time.

What’s more, given the settings…

The target user is someone who wants to be able to sit comfortably, not someone who spends 30mn-1h on the computer.

By the way, this chair features in my ranking of the best gaming office chairs, and this Corsair chair is also high up in my list of the brand’s top chairs!

I’ll give you a brief description of its morphology:

If you’re 1m60-70-87 and max 120kg, it’s perfect, but if you’re taller than that, I wouldn’t recommend it.

The advantages and disadvantages of the Corsair T1 Race?

🏋️ Weight: 24 kg

High-density foam 48kg/m3

This means it’s especially durable and won’t sag over time.

Unlike that used on low-end chairs which eventually lose their pleasantness as they no longer regain their original shape.

In other words, as I said at the beginning of this article, it’s designed for gamers who spend many hours on their computer.

Moreover, the density indicated on the Corsair website is 48kg/m3, which corresponds to a chair that’s neither too firm nor too soft.

And not less than 20kg/m3 as I’ve seen in some places.

Back & seat with side bolsters

Both the backrest and seat have side bolsters, just like any other bucket chair.

The aim is to provide greater comfort and support!

Personally, I like it, but whether the chair has them or not, I find that you quickly get used to their presence or absence.

So it’s a nice bonus, but not essential.

Rocking chair mechanism

One of the most important adjustments on a gaming chair for me is the tilt mechanism.

On the right side of your thing you have the control to raise and lower the seat if you push it down or up.

Then, if you push it from right to left, you can block or “release” the seat’s tilt function.

I strongly recommend that you do not block the tilt function.

Because if you want to keep your back supported and avoid back pain, your backrest has to follow your movements!

This is a very good point for the Corsair T1 Race, proving once again that the chair is made for hardened gamers.

Class 4 gas springs

Well, that’s the minimum, and it’s present on almost all gaming chairs…

The class 4 gas-operated actuator is the highest class of actuator available.

It’s the mechanism that raises and lowers the chair.

If you don’t want to end up with problems in this area, you’d better make sure it’s of high quality.

The cylinder class indicates the chair’s strength.

Metal chassis and frame, plastic foot crosses

This is also a good point for the Corsair T1 Race…

The fact that the chassis and frame are made of steel is a guarantee of durability.

As it’s one of the most resistant materials, I much prefer the chair’s skeleton to be made of steel, rather than plastic!

Our Corsair T1 Race V2 needed a little flaw!

The foot cross is indeed 5-star, but it’s made of a material used on most gaming chairs, and yet not of the highest quality.

In fact, the foot cross is made of PU.

We could have done better with a sturdy metal foot, but this isn’t the case.

In practical terms, I don’t think it’s the detail that makes the chair less durable, but I’d have preferred a metal cross-leg.

4D armrests

On the Corsair T1 Race V2, you can adjust them in 4 dimensions…

In other words, you can move them in all directions, up and down, right and left, front and back, and even rotate them.

So you can find the perfect position at your desk.

This is very important, because not everyone has the same shoulder width, height or desk height, and so on.

So you can adapt them perfectly to your morphology and to your desk or equipment.

It’s also a great advantage for good posture at the office…

Your elbows must not rest in a void, and they must be oriented at 90°.

All this is hardly possible with a “normal” chair.

Last but not least, they are independently adjustable, one can be higher than the other, and the top of the armrest is rather firm with an anti-slip coating.

So you’re on top of the ergonomic game.

Sport car bucket seat design

One thing’s for sure: the design has that “gaming chair” feel…

Thanks to its bucket-seat design, reminiscent of a racing car, and its wide range of available colors.

The curves are pretty, and the colors aren’t too flashy (even in yellow/red and, of course, black).

The top of the backrest features the Corsair logo and branding, as does the back.

A welcome bonus that shows their attention to detail: the cushions supplied match the colors of the chair.

PU leather armchair

What is polyurethane leather?

Polyurethane-coated fabric or crust!

It’s the main material used to make gaming chairs, since putting leather all over the chair means driving up prices enormously.

As such, for simili to be good, it must be well-made and not start to crack quickly over the years.

The Corsair T1 Race V2 is a good example…

It doesn’t crack despite repeated use.

However, I recommend that you take care of it by moisturizing it from time to time with a moisturizing cream of your choice.

Supplied with neck and lumbar cushions

It’s a little bonus that’s present in most gaming chairs!

You’ll receive the Corsair T1 Race with a lumbar cushion and a neck cushion, both in soft microfiber.

The purpose of the lumbar cushion is to reproduce the natural curvature of your back, so it’s particularly important for your sitting comfort.

The purpose of the neck cushion is to support your neck, but this one is more optional!

Clean seams and finishes

The stitching is well done, and they’ve even taken the trouble to match the color of the stitching to the color you’ve chosen for the chair.

The same goes for the little diamonds on the back of the chair and seat, which provide ventilation (and prevent you from sweating).

Last but not least, they are close together, which indicates good stitching.

In the long term, this won’t be the type of chair to have threads that come unstuck (which, in addition to being questionable in terms of quality, looks rather ugly).

Roller wheels

The Corsair T1 Race has nylon “roller” wheels!

This is particularly appreciated, given that most gaming chairs normally have a different kind of wheel, with much less rolling.

If you tend to change your wheels, I don’t think you’ll need to.

They’re very smooth, they don’t snag on carpets or the floor, and they’re stable.

Backrest adjustment up to 180°

You can angle it up to 180°, which is theoretically the maximum and corresponds to a fully reclined position.

While 180° can sometimes be nice for watching a movie…

But what we’re really interested in here are the intermediate positions between 90° and 180°, since I doubt you’ll often need to tilt it to 180°!

Settings location

The height of the chair can be adjusted by means of a lever on the right-hand side, which is easy to reach from a seated position.

You can also adjust the backrest inclination via a lever on the right-hand side, which is also easy to reach while seated.

The same goes for the armrests, which can all be adjusted without getting out of the chair, making it easy to change the chair’s settings even in the middle of a game.

Easy to assemble

Most of the screws are already in the right places, and the instructions are very well explained.

So assembly takes less than 30 minutes.

Very interesting customer feedback

I’ve tried, for you, to gather the overall consensus on this chair, and in most cases users are delighted to have bought it.

If you don’t have a favorite color, I advise you to look at them one by one.

The packaging is also very well protected, so the pieces of the chair will arrive in very good condition, and the manual is very complete with easy-to-follow instructions.

The castors are renowned for their silence and smoothness, rolling perfectly without damaging the floor.

The only drawback is that the armrests are a little fragile, so I recommend you take good care of them.

Comfort is also a recurring feature of this chair, the seat and backrest being a perfect blend of firmness and “softness”.

The imitation leather is well made, but I’d recommend moisturizing it once in a while…

To make it last over time (given the price of the chair).

All in all, this product is a very fine offering.

Other gaming chairs to consider

oraxeat mx800.jpg

Here’s my comparison of these two products: the oraxeat MX800 has 75kg/m3 high-resilience foam vs. 48kg/m3, and both have armrests that adjust in 4D.

However, the backrest only swivels up to 160° vs. 180° for the Corsair T1 Race V2 gaming chair.

Maximum load is 150kg vs. 120kg.

A good choice if you want a firmer seat at the price of a less reclining backrest.

klim esports.jpg

The Klim Esports, both products have high-resilience foam, both have armrests that adjust in 4D…

However, the Klim Esports only swivels up to 160° vs. 180° for the Corsair T1 Race V2. Maximum load is 150kg vs. 120kg for the Corsair T1 V2.

If you want a more spacious chair, but a less swiveling backrest (although you’ll need to have the budget).

Read the Klim Esport review.

nitro concepts s300 1.jpg

The Nitro Concepts S300 with its cold foam vs. high resilience, 3D adjustable armrests vs. 4D for the Corsair T1 Race gaming chair, the backrest here only swivels up to 135° and the maximum load is 135kg vs. 120kg.

A choice I wouldn’t recommend against the Corsair T1 Race V2.
