Honesty & Impartiality

The Corsair T3 Rush gaming chair is the big brother of the Corsair T1 Race.

So the first question you have to ask yourself is, what should you choose between the Corsair T3 Rush VS the Corsair T1 Race?

The Corsair T3 Rush is better, because :

  • The foam density is higher: 45kg/m3 vs. 55kg/m3.
  • Dimensions are virtually identical.
  • The lumbar cushion is memory foam.
  • It’s made of fabric (I’ll come back to this later in the review).

In short, unless you absolutely want a PU leather gaming chair with “roller” wheels (the only real advantages of the T1 Race over the T3 Rush), go for the T3.

They even own the Elgato brand.

The advantage of the T3 Rush over others in this price range is the 4D armrests, the memory foam cushion (at this price it’s wow!), the recline up to 180° and the very, very good density foam.

But that’s just a brief summary, so I suggest you learn more throughout this review!

Weight, size & playing time

Corsair
Corsair T3 Rush
corsair t3 rush

In concrete terms, the T3 Rush is a good gaming chair in fabric, with all the ergonomic adjustments you need.

As a bonus, it even comes with a memory cushion (a real life-changer, as it molds the lumbar region perfectly and eliminates pain).

What’s more, this corsair chair is included in my ranking of the best corsair gaming chairs!

So even if you spend a lot of time behind your computer, you won’t feel any pain, even if you spend up to 6-7h/d sitting.

If you really do spend 10 hours or more, I’d recommend you take a look at the Secretlab Titan Evo 2022, which I’ve reviewed.

In particular, the off-center rocker system will help you to sit even longer without feeling any discomfort.

However, if you don’t sit a lot, my aim is not to make you buy the T3 Rush at any price.

So for the more casual gamer, save your money and go and buy a cheap gaming chair from the competition.

It’s not as good, but it’s cheaper and more suitable if you play less than that.

The recommended height is between 1.60 and 1.87 m, with a maximum weight of 120 kg.

Very high density foam 55kg/m3

As I said in the introduction, the foam in the T3 Rush is very high-density and far superior to that of the T1 Race.

It’s even 20% higher, which means it’s firmer (which is very, very good for your back and comfort).

But it’s also going to give you a more durable foam, which won’t sag and will last a long time.

So you can rest your buttocks on it for many hours a day, every day.

And for as long as you like, without the risk of ending up with flattened foam.

Once again, a real investment.

Side cheeks between support and freedom

These are not the most “present” side cheeks I’ve seen on gaming chairs.

The T3 Rush is therefore suitable for those who want to be supported, but not too much, because they want to retain freedom of movement.

For those who want a lot of support, there are cockpit limit chairs like the VAOS 501.

And if you don’t want any support at all… You need a lambda office chair.

Rocking-chair "centered" system

The tilting system on the Corsair T3 Rush gaming chair is a “centered” mechanism, as I mentioned at the start of the article, which is normal in this price range.

You need to add about 2 times the price to have an off-center mechanism.

In concrete terms, the centered rocker mechanism is very well suited to the number of hours of play I mentioned just after the intro.

So if you’ve read on in the review, you’re in that situation!

And now you’re thinking, that’s all well and good…

“But I prefer to block the toggle mechanism, I find it annoying!”

That’s because you haven’t yet tried a rocking mechanism that’s well adapted to a chair that’s right for you.

What’s more, blocking it is a bad idea.

Your body needs to move, and having the chair follow your movements is super important for ergonomics.

It will also greatly reduce your lower back pain, as less pressure will be exerted on the lumbar area.

The Corsair t3 seat has a class 4 100mm piston.

The advantage of a 100mm piston is that it’s the pitons with the greatest amplitude.

They can go up and down 10cm.

You won’t find better.

Handy for FINALLY having your feet touch the ground.

Next, class 4 is also the highest class of piston.

This means it’s the strongest and has the greatest spring force (goes up and down more easily).

Steel structure and nylon base

A steel frame is the best, because it’s the strongest chair frame available.

So when it comes to durability, it’s very good: you can go ahead and use it, as the chair’s structure is unlikely to break.

However, the nylon base is not so cool.

In this price range, I wasn’t expecting aluminum, but a metal base would have been nice.

Well, you can’t have everything either, the chair makes up for it in many other areas.

Nylon already withstands a fairly high pressure of several hundred kg, even if it’s still a long way behind aluminum, which can withstand over 1000 kg.

Fully adjustable armrests (4D)

You simply won’t find anything better.

Each armrest is adjustable:

  • In height (set so that your elbows are at a 90° angle) to relieve pressure on your shoulders.
  • In width (no two people have the same shoulder width), so you can move them closer together, or further apart if you’re wide, for better support.
  • At an angle, allowing the armrests to follow your arms (remember, when you’re typing at the keyboard, for example, your arms aren’t quite straight), so you can take full advantage of them.
  • From front to back, which is easier when you’re closer to your desk, or depending on the position you’re going to adopt.

It’s the best setting.

Very attractive, modern design

I don’t know about you, but I find the design of this gaming chair very aesthetic.

The color schemes are very well worked out and it really adds a touch of pep to any setup.

It’s available in gray/charcoal, charcoal and gray/white, as shown in the photos.

So you’re in sober shades that will fit perfectly into a living room (I’m speaking for you gentlemen, if your wife prefers a sober color, you’re not taking any chances!)

The logo is embroidered on the front and back of the backrest, which is always nice to see.

T3 Rush has opted for “timelessness” with gaming chairs in these colors, so no matter if you move or change your set-up, they’ll always go with everything.

A real investment.

Fabric covering

In the introduction, I promised to tell you about the difference between fabric (on the Corsair T3 Rush) and PU leather (on the Corsair T1 Race).

The T3 Rush’s fabric is breathable.

So you’re far less likely to sweat on the T3 Rush than on the T1 Race.

PU leather isn’t as breathable, so you’re more likely to get your back stuck to the chair.

Fabric is also better because it’s more durable than PU leather, with no risk of flaking.

However, the advantage of PU leather over fabric is that if you tend to eat on it and get stains, PU leather will be easier to clean than fabric.

The choice is yours; personally, I prefer fabric for all these reasons and also for the softness of the fabric against the skin.

I also find it less slippery on the chair.

Padded headrest and shape memory lumbar cushion

I was impressed… A memory cushion (and a good-sized one at that) at this price!

That alone makes the T3 Rush more worth buying than the T1 Race.

The lumbar region is the area most at risk (it’s here that you most often feel pain when sitting, isn’t it?).

So a good memory foam cushion will not only perfectly reproduce the curvature of your lumbar region, but will also provide you with unrivalled comfort.

Every feature of your body will be perfectly molded into the memory foam.

Frankly, there’s no contest.

As for the headrest, it’s a little more ordinary.

It’s padded foam.

No problem, and that’s what I’d expect in this price range.

Nevertheless, the headrest is less important than the lumbar cushion.

Good finishes/seams

For a fabric gaming chair, I had high expectations of the T3 Rush in terms of stitching.

I was delighted, because they’re very precise, regular and there’s a good stitch rate per mm.

The covers are plastic, as on almost all gaming chairs.

At least here they’re personalized (the brand is inscribed on them).

And at least you can be sure you’re not just getting the covers at random.

Dual wheels not as good as T1 Race

So don’t get me wrong.

I’m not saying that the T3 Rush’s wheels are rotten; they roll very well and don’t leave marks on the ground.

However, for those who want to compare with the T1 Race…

The wheels on the T1 Race are “roller” type wheels, the only gaming chair I know that has them.

These wheels glide extremely well, with unrivalled fluidity.

And in this respect, they outperform the T3 Rush wheels.

Backrest reclines up to 180°

Once again, you can’t get any better than this – it’s the best there is in the business.

For one thing, it lets you find the seating position that suits you best.

Because you can tilt the backrest back as much as you like!

On the other hand, if you like to watch movies, TV series or YouTube videos, you’ll be able to watch them lying down or even take a nap on your T3 Rush gaming chair.

Tilt up to 180° for a fully reclined position.

Corsair t3 rush settings

The lever on the underside of the seat allows you to raise/lower the chair or lock/unlock the tilt mechanism by pulling/pushing it.

On the right-hand side of the backrest you’ll find a lever for tilting the backrest.

On the outside of each armrest you’ll find a knob for adjusting them.

The knob on the underside of the seat allows you to adjust the tilt mechanism to suit your weight.

Easy to assemble and well explained

The Corsair T3 Rush gaming chair is easy to assemble.

The instructions are very well explained and there’s even an assembly video online.

You can do it in under 20 minutes on your own.

Customer reviews of the Corsair T3 Rush

I’ve put together a quick rundown of why this chair is beloved on the internet:

  • Memory cushion.
  • Even though the recommended height is 1m87 max, lots of buyers over 1m90 feel comfortable in it.
  • The foam is firm and very comfortable (eliminates back pain).
  • Castors won’t damage floors.
  • Multiple adjustments.
  • Easy to assemble, but very large cardboard box that’s hard to carry.
  • There’s some play on the armrests.
  • If you’re really too tall, you might have to put the headrest really high up on the backrest.

The T3 rush is a very good choice.

Alternatives to T3 RUSH

corsair t1 race review

There’s the Corsair T1 Race, basically the two chairs are identical. The T1 Race just has better castors and is made of imitation leather.

However, the T3 Rush has denser foam and a SHAPE MEMORY lumbar cushion.

Read the T1 Race review.

nitro concepts s300 1.jpg

There’s also the Nitro Concepts S300.

However, its armrests are 3D, the backrest less reclining, the foam less dense and the cushions simply foam.

It does, however, carry more weight.

oversteel diamond 1.jpg

Then there’s the Oversteel Diamond.

It’s the one to choose if you have a smaller budget and are prepared to lose a few settings.

No memory cushion, 3D armrests, but still 180° recline and lower density foam.
