The DXRacer Formula F08 is one of the famous chairs from the renowned DXRacer brand.
Its vocation is to target gamers in search of comfort and ergonomics.
DXRacer has always aimed to produce high-quality, comfortable chairs, which is part of the reason why it has become so well known.
And one of its perfect representatives is the DXRacer Formula F08.
It’s a guarantee of real know-how and years of experience.
So stay tuned, as I’m going to tell you all about it, and you’ll be able to see whether it’s worth your while or not!
Sommaire
The DX Racer Formula Series is particularly aimed at gamers who spend several hours a day on their computer, or even hardcore gamers.
If you just want a chair to sit on once in a while…
I think it’s too high-end for so little use, unless you can afford it, otherwise take a look at the cheap gaming chairs.
If you want to compare it with its rival, take a look at the Robas Lund DXRacer review.
Mind you, I’m talking about the Robas Lund, not the MC Racing, which sucks.
And since you’re interested in the F08, you could potentially also be interested in my ranking of the best gaming chairs.
For the right body shape, this model won’t suit taller people.
So be careful before you buy: you’d better not be less than 1.45 m tall or more than 1.85 m tall and 100 kg, otherwise you might not enjoy the chair very much.

DXRacer Formula F08-nr features 52kg/m3 high-density memory foam, which is a very good thing, because…
High-density foam is made to last over time and, above all, not to lose its shape over time.
It’s a chair for people who want to keep it for a long time, and who spend a lot of time on their computer.
So you can use it as much as you like…
Without suffering the same consequences as on a low-end gaming chair, where the foam ends up collapsing and never regaining its shape.
Secondly, in terms of the seat, this density corresponds to just the right balance between firmness and “softness”!
You don’t want to sink into your chair either, otherwise it’s anything but comfortable!
Since the design is similar to a sports car bucket seat…
There are the same side cheeks that allow you to sit firmly and securely in the seat.
The seat is particularly high on the sides, and where the DXRacer formula 08 surpasses the competition is…
That the side cheeks of the backrest are not too narrow, which will also allow those with broad shoulders to sit comfortably.
The backrest is also slightly raised at the front, a mechanism designed to alleviate back pain.
You have two options for sitting down: either you can lock the chair back in the sitting position, and it won’t move or follow your movements…
Or you can unlock it, and it will follow your back’s movements.
This is a considerable bonus, and I recommend that you don’t block it.
Indeed, the ability to have one that follows your back in its movements is a very important feature for your back.
You’ll be supported no matter what, but not as rigidly as when it’s blocked.
It’s a guarantee of quality for your back, and yet all too often I see gamers blocking their backrests, which is a pity.
What’s a gas spring for?
It’s what gives your chair the power to go up and down.
It’s what determines the quality of your chair’s ascent and descent.
Here, as with most chairs, the gas spring is a class 4 gas spring, which is the maximum available.
Once again, the DXRacer formula F08 is a guarantee of strength! The frame is made of steel.
It’s a far cry from the armchair with a half-plastic frame that’s not built to last.
DXRacer has chosen a high-quality material that’s built to last.
This is very good news, as I’m used to polyurethane foot crosses that aren’t very durable, and here…
DXRacer has opted for reinforced aluminum, which is both attractive and resistant, and I’d even go so far as to say it’s a premium material.
With this, you shouldn’t have any problems with broken crossbars.
The armrests on the F08 have a 3D function, so you can raise and lower them, move them forwards and backwards and, in the 3rd dimension, rotate them.
This is an important asset for correctly adjusting your chair to the height of your desk and your morphology (your elbow must be at a 90° angle, so only height-adjustable armrests allow you to do this).
As for the rest, moving them back and forth allows you to adapt to your desk.
Being able to swivel them is mostly a bonus, I find, but I like it, because it lets me put them at the angle of my forearm.
For example, when you hold a mouse, your arm isn’t perfectly straight, so…
It’s nice to be able to swivel the armrests a little so that they’re on the same line as your arm!
The top of the armrest is quite comfortable, and firm enough not to hinder your movements.
Finally, you can have different settings on each armrest.
It’s a gaming chair in the shape of a “bucket seat”, i.e. modeled on racing car seats.
However, you can see that the look has been specially crafted, no matter what color you choose…
The color scheme is sober and not flashy, even in pink! (but I prefer black and red).
On the top of the backrest is the DXRacer logo, and also on the cushions that come with it.
By the way, DXRacer has an eye for detail, because their color changes according to the color of the chair you choose.
In fact, you’ll have no trouble finding a color you like: the DXRacer formula F08-n has been created in a wide range of colors.
It’s a leatherette that’s thicker than normal leatherette, which means DXRacer hasn’t skimped on the amount of material unlike some other manufacturers.
Nor have they skimped on quality, since the word premium is well deserved.
This is not a leatherette that will flake off over time; it holds up very well if you’re careful.
The DXRacer formula F08 comes with a lumbar cushion and a neck cushion.
The lumbar cushion respects the natural curvature of your spine.
The neck cushion lets you rest your neck.
It’s a good thing they come with it (as they do on most chairs), because otherwise you’d have to buy them.
Seams and finishes are one of the easiest ways to judge whether or not a chair is of high quality, and therefore whether or not it will last over time.
Especially if attention to detail has been paid to the chair.
In the case of the DXRacer formula F08 Series, this is very encouraging, because…
The seams are the same color as what they’re sewn onto, and there’s also a piece of PU around each seam to protect them.
They’re also strong and tight, which is proof of durability.
The wheels on the DXRacer formula F08-nw are made of rigid, solid PVC, so they roll well on all types of floor without leaving marks, and won’t catch on carpets.
It swivels up to 135°, so you’ll be able to find a comfortable position no matter what you’re doing.
135° corresponds to what I’d call a “semi-recumbent” position – unless you’re planning to sleep on your chair, that is!
It’s a no-brainer, too: everything can be adjusted while you’re sitting in the chair.
The crank for raising and lowering the chair is on the right-hand side of the seat, and if you pull it to the right or left, you can lock or unlock the rocking mechanism I mentioned earlier.
The backrest can also be adjusted using a lever on the side of the backrest!
As for the armrests, they can also be adjusted by pressing on them.
The instructions are very well explained, and given that the DXRacer formula F08 is very well known…
There’s a plethora of assembly videos, including an official one from DXRacer that assembles it in less than 5 minutes!
If you’d like a summary of some of our customer reviews, the overall consensus on this gaming chair is very good.
First and foremost, it is praised for its sophisticated design, but also, and above all…
Its comfort, which means no back pain even after several hours of intensive gaming.
It also seems to delight people of both 1m60 and 1m80 without any problem.
The chair is well protected on delivery, and the foam is tough, so it won’t sag over time.
As for the PU leather, it’s of excellent quality and won’t disintegrate after several months, as is the case with a low-end gaming chair.
The adjustable armrests are also highly appreciated, allowing you to fine-tune your posture on the chair.
The Arozzi Enzo has non-adjustable armrests vs. 3D for the DXRacer Formula F08, non-adjustable backrest vs. adjustable up to 135° for the DXRacer, maximum weight of 105kg vs. 150kg.
I wouldn’t recommend it over the DXRacer Formula F08 (and its imitation leather is much better).
Read my review of the Arozzi Enzo.
The Arozzi Verona Pro V2 has height-adjustable armrests only vs. 3D armrests for the DXracer, a backrest that can be adjusted up to 165° vs. 135°, a maximum weight of 130kg vs. 150kg, and both have high-density foam.
I wouldn’t recommend it over the DXRacer Formula F08 either – only the backrest is better, but it’s clearly not worth the effort, and even worse if you were considering the Verona V2.
Read the Verona Pro V2 review.
There’s also the IWMH, which has height-adjustable armrests vs. 3D, a backrest that also swivels up to 135°, a maximum weight of 135kg vs. 150kg, and both have high-density foam.
However, I wouldn’t recommend it either – the DXRacer Formula F08 is much better.

The DXRacer Formula F08 is aimed at gamers looking for comfort and ergonomics, in other words…
A comfortable chair with a wide range of adjustments so that it can be correctly adapted to their morphology, allowing them to play for several hours without back discomfort.
The DXRacer Formula F08 has come up trumps in terms of comfort and adjustability, making it easy to adapt to your own body shape and preventing back pain.
