The GT Omega Pro Racing chair targets the mid-range to high-end segment of the market, delivering…
A comfortable chair with a wide range of adjustment options and solid, high-quality materials.
All at a reasonable price.
As you can see, the aim with the GT omega pro is to achieve an appreciable blend of comfort and adjustability, while maintaining good value for money.
Customer service is generally attentive, and they very often modify their models to take account of customer feedback.
Stay tuned for my review of gtracing if you’d like to know all its features and whether it’s a good deal or not!
Sommaire
The GT Omega pro is comfortable (and for this reason features several mechanisms which we’ll discuss later in this review) yet affordable for almost everyone.
So it’s perfect for gamers (or workers) who spend many hours every day behind a computer, console, or similar.
If you only spend a few minutes, or even an hour at most, sitting down each day, and would prefer to switch to a more affordable, but less adjustable model…
Take a look at my ranking of inexpensive gaming chairs.
Its direct (but much more expensive) competitor is the leather noblechairs epic.
For morphology, a maximum weight of 120kg is recommended, and for height, I’d ideally recommend this chair if you’re between 1m60 and 1m85.

In concrete terms, it’s well-made and stands up well to the test of time.
This means it doesn’t sag, so you won’t find it completely flattened after a few months.
It’s rigid and well positioned.
It’s comfortable and well-made, but…
I notice they didn’t give the density (the less dense it is, the more likely it is to collapse).
It’s a shame, this lack of communication.
However, I have to admit that they did say that it’s cold, which is generally a very good sign.
What I really like about gaming chairs…
It’s the side cheeks (look at the chair and see that the sides of the chair are slightly curved).
This feature allows you to sit as snugly as in a sports car seat.
For those of you who have experienced this pleasure, I imagine you have fond memories of it!
I really appreciate the extra support, especially as I tend to have trouble sitting still.
This is THE feature you need if you use a chair on a daily basis:
You need a chair with a tilting mechanism.
The chair has a tilting mechanism that goes up to 20°.
But what is a rocking mechanism?
It’s the fact that the chair will follow the movements of your back.
The backrest is not constantly locked at 90°, but will tilt backwards a little if you lean backwards to take the strain off your back.
If you really want to, you can block this function to have a static backrest, but…
I don’t recommend it.
The tilting mechanism is a real asset for taking care of your back and preventing you from having a bad back at the end of the day.
The gas strut (i.e. the spring force that raises/lowers the chair) on the gtomega racing is class 4 and therefore very good.
There’s nothing wrong with it, and a gas spring of this class is very common on most gaming chairs, so it was the minimum we could expect.
I really like this one, because it’s made with a steel frame (i.e. the skeleton of the chair, what’s underneath its covering).
And the foot cross is made of aluminum, which is good news, because…
Much more resistant than the plastic foot crosses we’re used to seeing on players’ chairs.
It’s a very good product, with a choice of materials that guarantees durability and solidity.
Here again, very, very good news: it doesn’t get any better than 4D.
This is what will allow you to adjust their height, to…
Set them perfectly to the height of your desk, or if you play on a console, to the height where you feel your shoulders are most relaxed.
Then you can adjust them in width, to match the width of your shoulders.
So you don’t feel too narrow, nor too wide.
Whatever your shoulder width, you’ll feel great.
You can also adjust the angle of the armrest, i.e. from right to left (without changing the height or width), so that it’s exactly at the right angle to your elbows.
This is a great advantage, for example when you’re typing on the keyboard or holding a joystick, your arms aren’t all straight, they’re tucked in!
Well, now you can pull the armrests in too!
The last setting is the ability to move them forwards and backwards, which I find a little more gimmicky, but…
Maybe I just haven’t found the right way to use it yet?
Anyway, as you can see, this is a top-notch ergonomic chair!
The GT Omega pro racing is one of those chairs with a distinctive design.
At first glance, you’ll notice the attractive bucket-seat design.
Yet it’s simple and sober, with no flashy colors.
The only drawback is that there aren’t many colors available, but the main ones are there.
As they are sober (black, for example), they will adapt easily to your interior/setup.
You’ll also find the brand name on the top of the chair.
The coating is made of reinforced PVC, so it’s good quality imitation leather.
It’s non-itchy, smooth and comfortable, but above all…
It holds up well over time and doesn’t flake or “white out” like the faux-leather on some low-end gaming chairs.
The best way to sit comfortably in a gaming chair is with a lumbar cushion…
It reproduces the natural curvature of the back and provides very good support, and a neck cushion (also to reproduce its natural curvature and provide good support).
So it’s a real asset for comfort, and guess what?
They come free with this chair!
Honestly, there’s nothing wrong with the seams and finish.
They’re really well made, they’re close together, neither too tight nor too loose.
What’s more, they blend in with the color of the chair you’ve chosen (so they don’t use just any thread to mass-produce).
The gt omega pro racing office chair comes as a pleasant surprise, as you’ll immediately see from the type of castors used.
They roll slightly better than the average gaming chair castors.
I think that if you’re in the habit of buying a chair + castors, you’d be better off waiting to receive the chair and testing them to see if you’re satisfied before buying them in advance, as some of my friends do.
You’re in for a pleasant surprise!
You’ll be able to angle it up to 160°, for example 100° to work, 120° to read, 140° to watch a film and 160° to take a short break/rest.
In short, you’ll be able to do everything except go to bed!
To adjust the armrests, the knob is easily accessible (on the outside of each armrest).
As for the tilt, you can adjust it while remaining seated on your chair…
So there’s no need to get up if you want to switch from work to rest position!
Everything is controlled from the side of the chair.
You can adjust the tilt mechanism using the knob on the underside of the chair (which adjusts according to your weight).
So, depending on your setting, the chair will tilt more or less backwards.
Finally, to make the chair static or activate the tilt mechanism, use the lever to raise/lower the chair and pull it to the right or left.
The instructions are well explained, and even if you’ve never assembled anything in your life, you’ll find it easy!
Everything fits together easily, and there’s nothing special to do.
Most people who’ve bought it are very satisfied with the comfort, and the various possibilities (because it’s very well adjustable) that the chair allows.
But also for its sturdiness and durability over time, compared with the poor-quality gaming chairs you buy in supermarkets.
On the other hand, some people have noted that the fact that the cushions are elastic is problematic, as they tend to wear out and are complicated to adjust.
There’s a risk that you’ll have to readjust the cushions from time to time.
As with most gaming chairs, the plastic covers also look cheap, which I expected, I must admit…
It’s not really the part of the chair they work on the most.
Otherwise, for its price, it offers 4D armrests, which is quite rare, as well as cold foam and a chair that reclines up to 160°.
All in all, a very good reason to snap it up!
The Akracing Nitro’s armrests can only be adjusted in 2D vs. 4D for the gt omega racing pro.
Its mouse is also of high quality, with a backrest that swivels up to 180° vs. 165°. Maximum weight is 150kg vs. 120kg.
If you don’t need the adjustable armrests and want more scope for backrest or weight adjustment, this could be a good alternative.
Read the Akracing Nitro review.
The Klim esports, which also has 4D armrests, but…
Which has high-resilience foam, a backrest that also swivels up to 160° and a higher maximum weight, up to 150kg.
If you’re looking for an equivalent chair, but with a much higher quality foam, this is the chair for you (although you’ll have to put your hand in the wallet).
See my review of the Klim Esports.
The Oraxeat MX800, with 75kg/m3 high-resilience foam, armrests that also adjust in 4D, a backrest that also goes up to 160° and a higher maximum weight: 150kg.
A very interesting alternative to the gt omega racing pro.
Read the Oraxeat MX800 review.
I know how difficult it is to find a quality gaming chair with numerous adjustments without it reaching a stratospheric price, especially for inveterate gamers.
With its 4D armrests, reclining backrest up to 160° and high-density foam, the gt omega racing pro has managed to combine a good price with top-notch functionality!
It’s a model I can highly recommend, because it’s a very good deal.
